Horizons Group
“It’s a great place to meet people and have a chat.”
Horizons attendee
Horizons is a social group for adults in the Stockport area who experience some form of mental health difficulty. The aim is to provide a friendly and supportive meeting place where people can make friends, have fun and join in with therapeutic activities. We also provide beverages and snacks throughout the evening, in old-fashioned “tuck shop” style, with 25p for a cup of tea!
Horizons is the oldest and longest-running group based at SPARC, and is a place where people belong; meet; share; socialise; talk openly; and feel safe as well as join in with activities. The activities that we have on offer range from competitive table tennis, darts and quizzes to more leisurely pursuits such as bingo and evening meals such as barbeque, jacket potatoes, beans on toast and pancakes. In addition, we also have a quarterly meal out to local restaurants.
“I really like Horizons – I am made to feel very welcome.”

Horizons takes place at SPARC every Wednesday evening from 7-9:30pm.
Note: we do charge a small entrance fee of 50p.
“There are a mixture of people to socialise with and always someone to chat to – I enjoy the variety of quizzes.”
